Additon/Remodel Administration Offices, Samish Indian Nation Featured

Project Name:
Additon/Remodel Administration Offices, Samish Indian Nation

Contract Amount: $187,000
Period of Performance: December 2002 to March 2003
Owner: Samish Indian Nation

Description: This project represents our second complete design-build project. This 1000 SF two-story addition was an expansion of the administrative offices and reception area, with a new potlatch/sales area. The work involved schematic design, design development and working drawings, securing tribal council approvals, and permit application and tracking. Prior to the construction of the addition we removed asbestos in the ceilings of the library/copy room, demolished the walls and constructed new tribal council chambers in the existing building. Along with the addition, Allen-Bradbury re-roofed and re-sided the entire Administrative Office and made improvements in the kitchen/dining room and day care areas of the Longhouse. Our employees performed all selective demolition, concrete foundations, rough and finish carpentry, and site work improvements. Scott Brunner was responsible for the overall scheduling of the addition. Wade Barton handled the field and job coordination. This project is another example of our experience in design-build construction. Secondly, the contract work with the Samish Indian Nation required coordination of three simultaneous projects (the Addition, New Siding and Longhouse).
